About Me .. albeit briefly !
A good place to start is the beginning, so ....
I was born ( Contrary to what some people call me !!) a long, long time ago on 3rd. November. 1947, at around 05:30 in the morning, in a town called Watford, which is in England, U.K. I don't recall any of the experience, but what has been said to me over the years is that the taxi taking me Mum and Dad to the hospital didn't get there in time. It got stopped by the traffic lights !! Funny that, the taxis don't seem to bother nowadays with them !! Anyhow, I came into this World on the back seat of the taxi. Good job my Mum was wearing something underneath her maternity dress or Yours Truly would of ended up on the floor !!
Like the majority of kids growing up, I went to school. ( Booo, hiss, booo !! )
I learnt just enough to stay in the second highest class through my school life. I didn't want to be in the top class because I hated some of the subjects taught at the time. Being the quiet and shy type, I didn't make too many friends. A few enemies though as I was brainier than them !! And bullied because of that and because of my size, skinny and short. There's not much more to say about school time as it was quite boring. The main thing that I remember is that while at Junior school I got pushed off of a climbing frame and ended up with a fractured skull.
A 12-foot drop, head first, onto to the tarmac playground .... OUCH !!
And, No, it wasn't nice having three months in the hospital. :-((
My Dad was a self-employed brickie ( He's retired now ) and I wanted to join him in the trade, just as he followed his father into it. Time and time again he said "No, there's no future in it", but that didn't stop me from leaving school at the earliest opportunity !! I never did join him in the building trade :-( There have been a few times when I regretted not staying at school, and probably progressing into College or University, so you kiddo's out there take my advice ...... Do your best at school, attend the classes, learn as much as you can ... get some degrees, certificates, scholarships, etc.. behind you. The more you know, the more it will help in your future employment(s). Not having the qualifications behind me, my work-life, so far, has been manual.
Didn't want to be a "suit" anyway !!!
I've had various jobs, with various types of work, most of them have been outdoor and driving related. Something to do with my birth I think !! I am currently a bus driver. The hours are long enough .. can be longer !! ... the pay is crap, but I enjoy it. Traffic jams, hostile passengers, finishing shifts after Midnight excluded !!
Oh well, that's school and work life, so far, done with. What else is there to say ??
Ah, yes, home and status.
I left school at 15, lived with my parents, barring a couple of years in South Wales, until I got married at the age of 31 .... the day after my birthday !.
There, all done now. More ?? OK, I'll carry on !!
To this day, I am still married to the same person .... you get shorter sentences for murder !! We celebrated our 21st Wedding Anniversary in 1999. Like all married couples, we've had our ups and downs. Arguing over money, or rather the lack of it !, and kids being the downsides. But we get through Since we've been married, we've had 10 (Yes, TEN !!) kids. None before marriage I may hasten to add and much to the delight of my Mum as she thought that the other half was pregnant, seeing as we got married within 6 months of meeting !! Not in order, but there's come along 6 girls and 4 boys. Because I'm usually skint, I'm dreading the day when the girls want to get married !! Our second born, Jennifer, is our eldest. ( Family tragedy .:-(((( ... my Math isn't wrong) And, like most teenage girls, didn't like being told what to do !! So, not long after her 18th birthday, she moved out. We still see her, though not as often as we would like. Working shifts has a lot to answer for !! Still, there's the other 8 kids to bring up. The youngest, Debbie, is 7 years old . awww :-))
Oh well, that's a brief-ish outline of my life up to now.
Looking back over the years it's been a bit of a humdrum, dismal life, nothing much exciting.
I think I'll go and shoot myself ......... BANG !!!
Trust my luck ........ I missed. !!
Which means you'll have to put up with more of my ramblings at another time ...... he he he
By the way, my name is Keith.
THE END
FOR THE TIME BEING !!
